Challenge Friday

I woke up this morning and could barely get out of bed, I did 240 squats yesterday and I do not think I will be able to make it to 260 today. It will be a huge challenge for me and I hope I am able to complete it.
Squats have become my therapy and if I am having a bad day I do a few squats and I feel all the pressure of the day go away. Lately I have been bending down into a squat to get items I need, I add those to my squats as well; you gotta get them in whichever way you can.

My favorite place to sneak squats is at the grocery store; if I need a product I will dip into a squat and get it. So far I have gotten ten squats alone at the grocery store (no shame in my game). I am looking forward to challenging myself today even though my entire lower part of my body feels like I belong in a wheel chair. I think I will be able to do it but I know it will be a challenge.

When it comes to these yummy dried mango slices I bought this challenge will kill me. I cannot just only eat four slices (120 calories); I really want to eat the whole bag so I will have a huge challenge ahead of me.

Question of the day: What challenges are you facing today that you want to conquer?

Lunch, Dinner, Grain Free Diets

I decided that I would go to the grocery store to find some almond flour but it looks like they were all sold out which was upsetting, but I was still happy I got to casually chat with a personal trainer I do not know how long we chatted, but I do know the sun was setting when I went into the store and it was very dark when I came out. We got into an interesting discussion about carb cycling and grain free diets and how beneficial they can be. I will spare you the boring details of the whole conversation and tell you they are a great way to detox your body; especially since most of us (only me) tried to eat the whole thanksgiving pie. I know when you carb cycle you can burn fat but detox the whole body from a grain free diet. I may half to make this an every other week routine it can be pretty easy once you get the hang of it.

I had left over salad from dinner that I had for lunch today food always tastes better the next day..

Carb Cycle Dinner Day 3

Low Carb, Carb Cycle, Naturalista, Savy Naturalista, Paleo I am finally getting the hang of the low carb and carb cycle meals they are pretty easy once you know what to eat and what not to eat the possibilities are endless. I do find it tough to eat five meals a day. I just can’t do it; I barley can figure out what to eat with three meal a day add five oh man your killing me. I did take in to consideration that I am a heavy snacker so I just have two snacks to make up for my five meals; today I snacked on fruit leather, peanut butter, 3 figs and 3 dates. Today I had leftovers for dinner I made a lot of veggie meaty sauce that I will eat some for lunch tomorrow as well; I also added spinach tuna patties to the sauce to make a very flavorful dinner.

Carb Cycle Breakfast Day 1

Carb Cycle Breakfast Day 1, Low Carb Diet, Naturalista, Savy Naturalista Carb cycle week has begun who is ready for the challenge oh yeah! This time I do not have a cold so I can get a little creative in the kitchen this week; I did not plan any dinners for this week so I will be going with the flow when it comes to dinner. I have not been to the farmers market in a while I only have one pack of grass-fed beef left so I will try to incorporate more veggie and seafood dinners this week; the veggies are piling up in the fridge so what a good excuse to use them all. With all that unlimited pie most of us ate it is time to burn some fat; for breakfast I had ½ banana, 1 egg, and low carb peanut butter bread with earth balance butter.

Carb Free Thursday

Today is one crazy day for me so I will show you what I have been eating so far today and if I have time to make dinner I will try to get a picture. I pretty much had everything I ate yesterday for today. I am really under the weather so I have not been as creative with my meals as I wanted to be; next week is thanksgiving so the week after (I cannot miss out on pie) that I will try and do another low carb challenge week. Winter is a great season to be on a low carb diet because all the vegetables and fruits you can cook with are in season(spaghetti squash anyone?). I can tell you that for the most part I have struggled with sugar on this diet; it is insane I really have been eating a lot of coconut sugar lately. I really need to monitor my intake next time I do this challenge good grief I need some type of self-control. Here are my two meals so far:)

Low Carb Meal

I think I am officially over this breakfast I will half to figure out what to eat tomorrow morning..

Low Carb Hump Day

Today is the hump day on my carb cycle diet hooray!! This diet was much easier than I thought it would be and I think that is because I have a cold, so I have not had much of an appetite this week. I have been craving bread today I miss bread, I love bread, I need bread. The good thing about me lowering my carbs I get to eat more nuts and seeds, and nut butters. Here is my food intake for today I did eat sesame candy made with coconut sugar and a no or low carb cookie. However I still miss my bread 🙂

Low Carb Breakfast

This kept me full for a good three almost four hours I am defiantly eating this tomorrow 🙂

Low Carb Lunch

Carb Cycle Week

This week I decided to go on a diet yes I am on a diet; I decided that I would go on a low carb diet. I know you may be thinking diets do not work why are you deciding to go on one? I have been looking for away to challenge myself eating healthy can be difficulty and if you do not have fun with your new lifestyle then it will not stay with you, and this is something I really want to stick with me. I hope it helps keep my new healthy lifestyle fun, challenge me, and keep me away from a plateau. I have been looking at Doctor Oz lately and he had my favorite personal trainer on Chris Powell and he talked about carb cycling; I was amazed that when you cycle your carbs you can burn a lot of fat without losing lean muscle, I want to try it for a week and see if I like it. Thanksgiving is around the coroner and I have been dreams about pie and sangria; I also had so many carbs last week my body went into a state of shock so this will be a wonderful break for me.
My meals will consist of no bread if I do have bread only at breakfast, and it will be whole wheat. I will eat lots of fruit because fruit is low in carbs, I cannot live without fruit, and that is how I lost the first 25 pound. I will also eat lots of fats, fish, eggs, grass-fed meat, but in moderation.
Yesterday I was under the weather so I did not post my meals: Breakfast: two eggs and an apple, Lunch: salad and olive oil as dressing, Dinner: Warm vegetable soup. My snacks: banana, flax seed (just nuts, and veggies) cookies, and sesame seed brittle made with coconut palm sugar.

Carb Cycle Meals

Breakfast: two eggs, banana, and warm peppermint tea; for lunch I will have a big salad, snacks I will have cucumber, celery, banana, and 1 tbsp, and a half of almond butter. I will see you at dinner.
