I am trying to make it through the weekend without giving into the temptation of eating anything I will regret. It seems to be going great so far. I am a person who loves to snack; so today I have been snacking on sunflower seeds, low-fat pretzels no salt of course, and apple chips. I also had a nice tall glass of juice. I decided to dust off the juicer and juice more often especially on the weekends. I juiced three oranges and broccoli stalks. It had a very bitter taste but juicing is good for the soul. For dinner I am going to attempt to make sushi I hope I get it. Wish me luck. I jogged and ran about a half a mile today and walked the other two miles I walked home it got pretty hot and I was getting tired. I have learned never to go jogging in the afternoon always early in the morning or when the sun goes down much cooler.
Well that’s what I would say if you do not want to buy a bag of chips, candy, cakes, and ice cream get sick and feel guilty later; but now I am confident that I can go into a Wal-Mart hungry and come out feeling satisfied and guilt free when they carry these cute little snacks. They are called buddy fruits and were only 88 cents a piece and pretty nice serving sizes. When I bought the little snacks the cashier asked me if my kid’s like to eat the apples and fruit snacks that were just pure fruit. I told her they were for me I guess these snacks are for kids but that did not stop me from eating them. Food is universal we can eat whatever we want no matter what the packaging looks like. I bought a 4 bags of apple chip’s and these cute little gummy snacks that are pure fruit but too sweet for me..
The weekend is here I have been having problems controlling portions on weekends, so now I am prepared and ready to beat the weekend with a few snacks and they are not chips. GO WEEKEND GO I will also be running the track for the first time ever wish me luck. What is everyone doing this weekend?
This smoothie was very sweet and no sugar added; it was like sipping on a creamy milk shake. I have been really having fun using simple ingredients to make a healthy breakfast in just minutes. I am also now addicted to fruit and have been having weird cravings for celery. I am officially a smoothie lover I am going to miss this challenge when it is over, but I will incorporate more smoothies into my diet. Today I used 2 bananas, 1 cup pineapple, 1/2 cup oatmeal, and 1 cup unsweetened almond milk.
I decided to bulk up my smoothies again with oatmeal to keep me full longer. My all fruit smoothies would leave me very hungry three hours later and with little to no concentration at work. When you are hungry you can be a very cranky person at work and I really do not want to be cranky it is not a good look for me; so bulking up is the way to go. I used 2 bananas ½ cup oatmeal 1 cup of almond milk and ½ table spoon of cinnamon.
This Smoothie was sweet and a perfect way to start a fall day. Japanese sweet potatoes only come in to the market around this year and they are much sweeter then a yam or regular sweet potato. I used one small Japanese sweet potato that was baked, one banana, one cup of hemp milk, and a pinch of cinnamon. I put pecans on top for toppings tasted just like a pie.
Lately I have stopped cooking with canola oil and I switched to olive oil and coconut oil. Canola oil is actually called rapeseed oil and is not meant to be cooked are ingested by the human body. That’s why I decided to switch to the cooking oils I am currently using; however I do use olive oil more than coconut oil. My reasons would be it gets more hype than coconut oil. Olive oil is very popular on cooking shows and television commercials you can’t help but use it all the time. Fun Fact: Most of the olive oil in grocery stores is actually produced in Spain not Italy, so just because your bottle of olive oil say’s Italy 9 out of 10 it is Spain.
I love researching the health benefits of olive oil and I stumbled upon an interesting article. I learned that the olive oil I was using may not have been true olive oil; but rather one third rancid olive oil with the rest being bottle with soy bean oil! I cannot begin to tell you how upset and infuriated I was. I could not believe that I was wasting my money on fake OLIVE OIL. I have been using olive oil for about five months, I could tell you in that five months I would buy a bottle every two weeks; that’s about 18 dollars a month which is about 90 dollars on fake olive oil. Who would want to know that they have spent about 90 bucks on fake olive oil in the last five month; since I have started a journey to a healthy way of living I care about my body and I care about what I put in to it. I know many of you do as well that’s why I decided to inform myself, and tell you guys what’s going since the grocery stores refuse to tell us this much needed information.

I have been doing a lot of tropical smoothies this week; and a wonderful way to end my tropical smoothie week is with a pina colada. I used 2 bananas, 1 cup frozen pineapple, 1teaspoon coconut extract, and one cup of hemp milk. What a great morning for an escape…
Good morning lovely readers, today I wanted a refreshing smoothie today is smoothie challenge day 12, and I wanted something sweet that would make my taste buds tingle. I used 2 bananas, 1 cup diced pineapple and mango, and one cup of hemp milk. I didn’t add any bulk to my smoothies I went on the lighter side today.
My planks are getting better every day and I am hoping to be at 60 seconds pretty soon. Does anyone love planks I am not a fan, but a strong core makes for better performance.
Smoothie challenge day 11 and I am not tired yet, when you have so many varieties and flavors to add to your smoothies you can never ever get tired. Today I used 1 cup apple sauce, ½ cup oatmeal, 1 cup hemp milk. What a great morning pick up.
Weekends are so hard for me to watch my portions. The scale has stop moving because of my weekend hiatus. I guess I am considering it more of a job you work during the week and take off on the weekends. I know it’s a life style change so I am going to half to find a way to weekend portion control.
